8U Padres Despite a slow start, the Padres came back to get another win. Outstanding pitching by Tristan Flores and Anthony Salazar kept a good Astros team at bay. When our bats finally woke up, we got home runs by Gilberto Gonzales, Anthony Salazar and Vos Price. Joshua Hinojos also came through with three hits, while Tristan Flores and Rayce Thorton got singles as well. Zachery Haro knocked in a run with his triple right down the third base line. It was a great team effort by everyone. |

8U Padres The Padres traveled to Essex field to take on the AC Padres. Our Padres were a hitting machine. Vos Price went three-for three and pitched two shut-out innings. Joshua Hinojos, Tristan Flores, Anthony Salazar, Gilberto Gonzales and Jake Masad all had hits in this game. Joseph Gonzales and Damien Romero had key walks and scored runs while Zachery Haro narrowly missed a bunt single. Dylan Sylvester got to play first base and got the final out to preserve the win. Nice game Pads…..Keep up the great work!! |

8U Padres The Padres and the
Angels faced off once again in a tight game. The lead kept going back
and forth with our Padres finally able to get the upper hand and hold
off the Angels’ hitters. Rayce Thorton ran down a hit to the outfield
and got it in to the cut-off. Joshua then threw to third base to throw
the runner out. Excellent pitching by Tristan Flores and Anthony Salazar
kept the game close. Anthony also went three-for-three with a homerun.
Singles by Vos Price, Joshua Hinojos, Gilberto Gonzales, Tristan Flores,
Dylan Sylvester and Jake Masad all played a key role in our win. |

8U Padres The Padres traveled
to Rowland Heights to take on the RH Yankees. It was a very good game
for the Pads who won the game 8 to 0. Jake Masad hit a line shot that
he turned into his first homerun of the season. Vos Price also hit a four
bagger. Excellent pitching by the entire pitching staff kept the game
well in hand. Tristan Flores, Anthony Salazar, Vos Price and Gilberto
Gonzales all pitched an inning a piece while Joshua Hinojos closed the
game pitching two shut out innings. It was a good game for our Padres. |

8U Padres It was an All Padres game. The CHUSA Padres faced
off against the AC Padres for the first time this season. It was
a closely fought game with a bit of a pitchers’ dual. Anthony
Salazar threw only 25 pitches in two innings giving up only one hit and
striking out six batters. Not to be outdone, Vos Price then came
in to preserve the win by striking out four batters himself and catching
an inning ending pop up off the mound. The game ended on a spectacular
play at home. With an AC batter hitting what appeared to be a homerun
that got to the outfield, Dylan Sylvester ran the ball down; threw the
ball in and hit his cut-off, Joshua Hinojos. Joshua turned and saw
the runner rounding third. He threw the ball to our catcher Jake
Masad who tagged out the runner at home making the third and final out
of the game. Outstanding game by everyone. |

8U Padres In their final meeting of the season with the AC Pirates, the Padres managed a nice win. Two singles by Dylan Sylvester coupled with doubles by Anthony Salazar and Joshua Hinojos, as well as a homerun by Rayce Thorton helped get the runs needed to preserve the win. Despite fighting a high fever and trouble breathing, Vos Price was a trooper and pitched a great game. Vos refused to sit out and only wanted to help his teammates win the game. A nice one inning relief appearance by Gilberto Gonzales was capped off by Joshua Hinojos who came in and saved the game in the final inning by striking out the three batters he faced. Nice going Padres! |

8U Padres The Padres showed some great team effort in their win on April 21st. Great pitching by Tristan Flores and Anthony Salazar was aided by two Grand slam homeruns. The first by Gilberto Gonzales and the other, by none other than Tristan Flores. The whole team contributed to the win by their patience at the plate, or making excellent defensive plays on the field. Great job Padres!!! |

8U Padres The Padres managed another win against a very determined Angels squad. Excellent pitching by Tristan Flores and Anthony Salazar helped preserve the win. Dylan Sylvester hit his first Home Run. Great job Dylan. Gilberto Gonzales brought in three runs with his triple in the first inning. Gilberto also helped with his glove and nearly got a double play, with a nice scoop at short, touched second base and threw to first. But, the runner just got in before the throw. Joshua Hinojos made a great catch at second and also nearly doubled up a runner who just managed to get back to the bag. GREAT defense by the whole team. |

8U Padres The Padres played a bit short-handed against the AC Pirates, but still managed a win. Joshua Hinojos pitched his first ever game and did an outstanding job. Joshua pitched two scoreless innings and also got a triple at the plate. Zachery Haro got his first home run of the season, while Anthony Salazar stroked his fourth and Vos Price got his third. Jake Masad also got a triple while Gilberto Gonzales got a double. It was a great team effort. 8U Padres Another great outing by Tristan Flores and Anthony Salazar on the mound. They both teamed up to pitch four scoreless innings against a very good team. Gilberto Gonzales made a great play at short stop in the first inning by tagging out a runner as he backed up a shot that managed to squeeze by our third baseman. Rayce Thornton got his first Grand slam of the season with a rocket shot up the middle. Vos Price also homered for his second of the season. Jake Masad, Tristan Flores, Anthony Salazar and Joshua Hinojos all followed with singles. Joseph Gonzales, Dylan Sylvester and Zachery Haro all showed their patience at the plate with multiple walks in the game. Keep up the great work Padres. |

Padres
8U Despite a heart wrenching loss, the Padres showed great composure and their ability to come back when needed. While the Padres came back from a 2 to 1 deficit to take the lead in the final inning, time simply ran out and they fell short by one out at the drop dead time. In the Padres fifth inning, Damien Romero got us started with a key walk. Vos Price then singled and both were brought home by Anthony Salazar’s second home run of the season. Singles by Tristan Flores, Gilberto Gonzales, Zachery Haro, Joshua Hinojos and Jake Masad closed out the final inning. |

Padres 8U The Padres keep right on rolling with another nice win. A leadoff home run by Vos Price followed by two scoreless innings of pitching by him, kept the Padres in the game. Tristan Flores and Anthony Salazar also homered in the game. Two excellent stops at shortstop by Gilberto Gonzales helped keep the game close. This win was a big “Team” effort. Jake Masad and Dylan Sylvester also singled in the game. |
